My name is James Fodor. I have a PhD in computational neuroscience from the University of Melbourne, and am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. I started this podcast in 2010 as a way to share what I learned about science and the world around me with others. The podcast is exclusively my own work, so any errors or shortcomings in the research, recording, or editing are entirely my own.
My studies at university have been rather diverse, and have at different times included history, politics, economics, philosophy, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, and biology.
I also have a deep interest in philosophy, history, and religion, which I periodically write about on my blog. In addition, I also have interests in and varying levels of involved in skeptical/atheist activism, effective altruism, and emerging technologies. I am a fan of most things sci-fi, including Star Trek, Dr Who, and authors such as Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov.
